Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, who it reaches, and how to get it deleted. In plain English, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.
Replying now during business hours
If you only read one paragraph
We collect your name, phone number, email and some details about your car so we can quote you and turn up at the right address. We use Google advertising, so Google sets cookies on this site and we can see which ad brought you here. We do not sell your information to anybody, ever. If you want your details removed, email us and we will delete them.
The information we hold
What you give us. When you fill in a quote form or the booking page, we collect your name, phone number, email address, the vehicle you want detailed, your suburb, your preferred date and anything you type into the message box. On the booking page we also record the service, package and extras you selected, because that is the quote.
What we collect automatically. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you look at, how you got here and the advertising identifiers described below. This is ordinary website analytics and it is not tied to your name unless you also submit a form.
If you become a customer. Your service address, the work carried out, the vehicle, payment records and any notes from our calls. Phone calls to and from our business number are recorded and transcribed so we get the job details right.
What we never ask for. We do not collect card numbers through this website. Payments are handled by a dedicated payment provider who takes the card details directly, and we never see the full number.
Cookies, Google, and how we know which ad worked
This site uses Google Tag Manager, Google Ads conversion tracking and Google remarketing. These set cookies in your browser.
Click identifiers. When you arrive from a Google ad, the link carries an identifier (a gclid, gbraid or wbraid). We store it against your enquiry so we can tell which ads actually produce work, rather than guessing. We do the same with the Facebook and Microsoft equivalents, and with standard campaign tags, if you arrive from those.
Remarketing. Having visited this site, you may later see our ads on other websites. That is Google serving them, not us contacting you.
How to stop it. You can turn personalised advertising off at Google My Ad Center, and you can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. Neither stops you using this site or getting a quote.
What we use it for
To work out a price for your car and get back to you with it. To book the job, turn up at the right place at the right time, and invoice you afterwards. To answer questions and sort out anything that goes wrong. To send you a reminder or a follow up about work we have done or quoted. And to understand which of our advertising is worth paying for.
Marketing messages. If we send you a text or an email about an offer, every one of them tells you how to stop. Reply STOP to a text or use the unsubscribe link in an email, and we will take you off the list. Asking us to stop marketing does not affect a job you have already booked.
Who your information is shared with
We do not sell your information and we do not trade it. It reaches a small number of business systems, because the business runs on them.
A customer management system holds your contact details, your quote and the messages between us. A job scheduling system holds the booking, your address and what the work involves, so the detailer knows where to go and what to do. A payment provider processes the invoice. Our advertising and analytics providers receive the website data described above. And our detailers see your name, address, vehicle and what the job needs, because they cannot do the work otherwise.
Some of these store data overseas, mostly in the United States. That is how software of this kind works and it is worth you knowing.
We will also disclose information if the law requires it, which in practice means almost never.
Seeing it, fixing it, or having it deleted
Ask us and we will tell you what we hold about you. If something is wrong, tell us and we will correct it. If you want it deleted, say so and we will delete it, apart from anything we are legally required to keep, which is mainly invoices and tax records.
Email admin@highshineclub.com.au or call 0489 275 280. We will come back to you within a few business days. There is no form to fill in and no charge.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Security, and how long we keep things
Every one of those systems is access controlled and only the people who need your details have them. This website is served over HTTPS, so anything you type into a form is encrypted in transit.
We keep customer records for as long as you are a customer and for seven years afterwards, which is what the tax rules require of us. Quote enquiries that never became a job are kept so we can recognise you if you come back, and deleted on request.
No system is perfectly secure, and anybody who tells you otherwise is selling something. If something ever goes wrong in a way that could cause you harm, we will tell you.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we update this page and change the date below. There is no mailing list for policy updates.
This policy was last updated on 4 October 2026.
